Mary Terry Pilcher grew up on a ranch in the Susanville area of Northern California. She began working with leather before she was 10 years old. While in college she earned more money creating leather items than she could earn at any other job, and a career was born. After graduation from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in Classical Music and Performance Art, Mary opened her first custom leather shop in Reno, Nevada. After relocating to Sacramento in the 1990s, Mary again opened her own shop, this time in in Old Sacramento, specializing in custom leather clothing and leather repair.
Mary spends her free time playing her grand piano and designing leather artworks. Recently the urge to create the items that she loves to design has spawned the opportunity for Mary to join the Artist's Collaborative Gallery.
