“As a child I loved to draw.” Attempting an art class both in high school and in college, Karen was discouraged from pursuing art. Later, as a stay at home mother, she took a watercolor class from a local artist. And she discovered the joy of painting. After a 10 year hiatus due to family obligations, Karen relocated to Davis, California, and decided to give oil painting a try.
“I paint because I love to. And I paint whatever I love. The beauty and color of the world that God created is the inspiration for my art, whether it be floral, still life, landscape, or something from my imagination. And as Michelangelo said, ‘I am still learning.’”
Karen’s work was recently chosen as one of the top 6 winners (in a field of over 1400 entries) in the Crocker Kingsley Show, and was proudly displayed in the Crocker Art Museum.
